Thanks for the inkspiration!!!

Thanks to my friend Nancy - Inkblocks for encouraging me to start a blog and inspiring my stamping in general. I would also like to thank Pat at Technique Junkies. Without her awesome bi-monthly newletter, my stamping would not be where it is today!!!

I made this card last August when it was sooo hot. I thought the image would give me cool thoughts. lol The main image was done with water color distress, (from Technique Junkie Feb 2007) using distress inks, faded jeans and tattered rose. When the inks dried, I carefully stamped the image placing it so that it looked like a winter sunset. I then daubed Distress Ink scattered straw in the lanterns so they looked like they were glowing. I highlighted the branches and lanterns with a white Sakura gel pen to look like snow. I cut the image out, layered it on white CS, then again on a piece of black CS torn at the bottom. I wrapped a white twill ribbon with a Making Memories embellishment around the black panel. Underneath this I glued a silver snowflake charm. This panel was then layered onto a SU! buckeroo blue CS edged with Krylon silver pen. Joy by a muse is stamped in the bottom right corner. This card measures 5.5 inches square. Whew!!! Takes me longer to describe it than making it.
Thanks for looking.
