I made this card for January's card swap on the RubberStampChat hosted by Beeswax. The theme was "hot tea". This really was a tough one. First, I am not a hot tea drinker, therefore I didn't own any stamps with that theme. I didn't want to buy any and never use it again, but then I found this one by Hampton Art Stamps called Afternoon Tea. Now this I like!!!
I started out by stamping the women on white cs and coloring her with colored pencils. It's hard to see, but I used a dk grape and olive on her dress and hat. I kept her skin pretty light flesh. Cutting her out was tough!!! I raised her on foam dots on a smoky lavender background cut in an oval shape. (The original stamp had her in the oval.) I had to offset the image to the right because there were ink smudges I need to cover. lol The next background is tan cs ran through a cuddlebug using the script die folder. I highlighted it with tea stain distress ink. This layer is wrapped with a lavender ribbon that matched the oval perfectly. Then layered again on Bazzill cs, a med olivey green which is actually the A-2 sized card. To bring out some of the dk purple in her dress, I layered the card on a panel of dk plum cs. I had some amethyst colored crystals that I placed on each side of the main image.
Sorry for the crooked pic... I couldn't get it to scan straight...thanks for looking.

Cheri--I just looked at your blog. Your woman is soooo swank! I love the colors in her dress. I'm with you on the cutting out part. I avoid it at all costs. Thanks for the inspiration. Nancy's Mom
